Back to the Pacific Ocean – the other Shining Sea

Back Home Again

Back Home Again

We returned on March 1st to our home at the beautiful Pacific Ocean following our concert in New London, CT in view of the Atlantic Ocean – making a complete trip From Sea to Shining Sea. Our February tour was an exciting adventure filled with great experiences, wonderful people, interesting organs, and fascinating places.

March started with a presentation of the From Sea to Shining Sea experience for the Oregon Coast Learning Institute in our hometown of Lincoln City, Oregon. We included a new visual addition at this event – two video cameras are now directed at the organ – one on the keyboards and one on the pedalboard – which allows the audience to see not only David’s great visuals, but a really up close look at my footwork as well as my manual technique. People loved it!

The very inquisitive audience had numerous questions following the concert from how an organ works to why I wear the shoes I do. We had a really great Q/A session. The morning was topped off with a wine tasting and lunch at the Bay House – one of the really great restaurants in Lincoln City.

The President of the Oregon Coast Learning Institute, Elle Lacques, had this to say about the event…..
“The concert and lecture that you presented to the Oregon Coast Learning Institute was an informative, stimulating experience. Your professionalism with the organ; the mechanics, the history and of course the beautiful playing was awesome. Everyone learned something new and was inspired by the entire show. Our members were delighted with the entire experience. Thank you for a memorable morning.”
